ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival and welcome to Uganda

One arrival at Entebbe international airport you will be received by our representative and transfer to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 2: Drive to Mabira in the morning for birding and later transfer to Jinja for overnight

After early morning breakfast you will start your drive east of Kampala towards Mabira forest, Mabira forest boasts of 315 species of birds including the rare ones like the Nahan’s francolin, Tit Hylia, Yellow and grey longbills, Purple-throated cuckoo shrikes, Illadopsises, Jameson’s wattle eyes after the birding tour you will continue to Jinja for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: Full day rafting on the Nile

After morning breakfast you will drive to the starting point for your white water rafting, Jinja is a true adventure capital in east Africa, facing the fierce rapids on the mighty Nile is consider a true once in lifetime adventure after the experience you will return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 4: Drive to Murchison Falls national park

After morning you will start your drive to Murchison falls national park, this is Uganda’s biggest protected area boasting incredible wildlife, some of the highlights include the Rothschild’s giraffes, elephants, Buffalo, Uganda Kob and also predators like lions, leopards, hyenas can be seen enroute the park you will visit the Rhino sanctuary in Ziwa and on arrival to the lodge you will check in, have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive and Afternoon boat cruise

Today will be an early morning start, you will enjoy an early breakfast and start your game drive before sunrise, this is perhaps the best time to see cats as the park is located in the Albertine rift valley making temperatures explode in the day and this makes cats to hide in the thickets, this drive will take you to the Nile delta where you will see incredible wildlife and after you will drive to the jetty in paraa to take an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of falls ,enroute you will encounter hippos, crocodiles, lots of birds and later you will return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 6: Drive to Kibale forest national park

After morning breakfast you will drive to top of the falls for a short hike and after you will start your drive to Kibale national park which is the primate capital of the world with stunning 13 species of primates most dominant being the chimpanzees others include red colobus, red tailed, baboons, black and white colobus and may others.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth for evening game drive

An exciting day starts with morning breakfast before driving to the forest to meet the ranger guides for a briefing about the Chimpanzees, after the briefing you will then start your trek in to the forest, during the trek you will listen to vocal sounds from the chimpanzees on locating the chimpanzees you will spend 1 hour with the chimps and after you will return to the lodge for refreshment and after you will start your drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for a short evening game drive in Kasenyi plains where you will look out for lions and leopards that traverse the plains and later continue to the lodge for overnight.

Day 8: Visit Bat caves, Afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel and a night game drive

After morning breakfast you will drive to Maramagambo forest for a forest walk that will take you to famous bat caves, this extra ordinary wonders will award you with great opportunity to see the caves where the resident bats reside during the day and later you will drive to Mweya for boat cruise on Kazinga channel where you will expect to see elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and fishing village on the shores of the Kazinga channel and later you will return to the lodge for early dinner and later meet the rangers for  a night game drive in the Kasenyi plains to look for the nocturnal wildlife like hare, white tailed mongoose and also lions, hyenas and leopards can be seen and later you will return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 9: Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park

After Lazily morning breakfast you will start your drive to Bwindi impenetrable national the home of mountain gorillas, this is one of the few places in the world where you can see the Mountain gorillas in their natural habitat a alongside Rwanda’s volcanoes national park, and DR Congo’s Virunga national park.

Day 10: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi forest

The day will start with the birds calling and the sun rising above Africa’s mountain forest as the mist rises over the tall trees, you will enjoy morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the trek, after your ranger guide will lead you in to the rainforest, following the information from the trackers that depart at 7 am you will start moving up and down hill on locating the gorillas you will spend 1 hour with them and then return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 11: Drive to Lake Mburo national park

After morning breakfast you will drive to Lake Mburo national park arriving in time for lunch and relaxation, later in the evening you will enjoy an evening game drive in search of wildlife like Elands, impalas, giraffes, Buffalos, Zebras, many other wildlife and bird species in the park and later return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 12: Drive to Entebbe for your departure flight

Depending on your final schedule or flight details you will depart Lake Mburo national park for Entebbe via the equator line on arrival you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey or dropped off at your hotel for overnight.

End of Tour

The Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking ends here. Any accommodation aneeded after end of trip will cost you an extra amount.
