ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and transfer to your lodge for overnight

On arrival at Entebbe international airport you will be received by our guide and transferred to your lodge for relaxation and overnight (Drive time 30 minutes-45 minutes).

Overnight: Lake Victoria Serena resort and spa Kigo

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls national park via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary

After delightful breakfast you will start your drive to Murchison falls national park, this is Uganda’s largest protected area covering over 5000 sq kms north west of the main capital, en route you will visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking experience on foot and later you will visit top of falls and later you will drive to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Drive time: 8-9 hours

Overnight: Paraa safari Lodge

Day 3: Morning game drive and Afternoon boat cruise

After morning breakfast you will head to the park’s Nile delta which is fantastic wildlife viewing area, lions, leopards and elephants tent to concentrate in the delta with other wildlife like Uganda Kob, Giraffes, Buffalo that come to drink water after the drive you will enjoy picnic lunch and later take a boat cruise to the bottom of falls, on cruise you will expect to see wildlife like Hippos, crocodiles, elephants and lots of water birds later you will return to the lodge for overnight.

Drive time: 5 hours game drive and 3 hours boat cruise

Overnight: Paraa Safari Lodge

Day 4: Morning Delta cruise and drive to Lake Albert

After morning breakfast you will transfer to the jetty for a boat cruise to the Nile Delta in search of the rear shoebill stork and other wildlife and birds, the Delta is where the Nile meets the Lake Albert you will have a lot opportunities to see water birds and big crocodiles and later you will return to the lodge for lunch and after drive to Lake Albert for relaxation and overnight.

Drive time: 3-4 hours

Overnight: Kikonko Lodge

Day 5: Drive to Kibale forest national park

After morning breakfast you will start your drive to Kibale forest national park, this is one of Uganda’s diverse forest housing about 13 species of primates like chimpanzees, Black and white colobus monkey, Red colobus, Red tailed monkey, you drive to Bigodi wetland for a primate walk where you will expect to see monkeys, birds and butter flies after you will then drive to your lodge for overnight.

Drive time: 5 hours to Kibale and 2 hours of primate walk and 1 hour drive to the lodge

Overnight: Ndali Lodge

Day 6: Morning chimpanzee trekking safari and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth for a short game drive

After morning breakfast you will drive again to Kibale forest for your chimpanzee trekking experience, the trek takes you through the diverse forest with an armed ranger guide on locating the chimpanzees you will spend 1 hour with the chimps and return to the lodge for refreshment, lunch after you will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for a short game drive in the Kasenyi plains in search of wildlife like Lions, Leopards, elephants, Uganda Kob, Buffalo and lots of birds after drive to the lodge for overnight.

Drive time: 2-3 hours to Queen Elizabeth and 2 hours game drive

Overnight: Mweya safari Lodge

Day 7: Game drive in the Morning and Afternoon Game drive

After morning breakfast you will head to the Kasenyi plains for game drive where you will be looking out for wildlife like African elephant, African buffalo, Ugandan kob, hippopotamus, waterbuck, warthog, giant forest hog, Nile crocodile, leopard, spotted hyena, and lion after you will return to the lodge for lunch and after you will transfer to the jetty for a boat cruise on the Kazinga which is one of the best cruises to see elephants and birds after you will return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Game drive time: 4 hours and boat cruise 2 hours

Overnight: Mweya safari lodge

Day 8: Drive to Southern Queen Elizabeth national park

After morning breakfast you will start your drive through Maramagambo forest to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park which is famous for the tree climbing lions that have adapted the life of resting up on the fig trees, on arrival you will then check in to your lodge and enjoy an evening game drive in search of the lions and other wildlife like Kob, elephants, leopards. Giant forest hogs and abundant birdlife and later return to the lodge for overnight.

Drive time: 2-3 hours to Ishasha and 3 hours game drive

Overnight: Ishasha wilderness camp

Day 9: Drive to Southern part of Bwindi impenetrable national park

Today you will start the day with an early coffee/tea with cookies at the lodge after you will head out for a short early morning drive on the ridge in search of hyenas that hunt early morning, leopard, elephants and Top that congregate in the mating grounds after you will return to the lodge for refreshment and full breakfast after you will then start your drive to Southern Bwindi, this is one of the spectacular land marks in Uganda, you will see the volcanoes on the drive and stay overnight at the shores of Lake Mutanda.

Drive time: 6-7 hours

Overnight: Chameleon hill Lodge

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking experience in Bwindi forest

After an early morning breakfast you will drive to the park station for your briefing about the gorilla trekking experience by the rangers, after the briefing you will be split in to small groups of 8 and start your trek in to the rain forest, your guide will be communicating to the trackers, after locating the mountain gorillas you will spend 1 hour with them and return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Trekking time: 2-8 hours depending on where the gorilla family is located

Overnight: Chameleon hill Lodge

Day 11: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation

After lazily morning breakfast you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi which is Uganda’s deepest lake with breath taking views on arrival you will check in to your lodge for relaxation and optional activities like Boat cruise, canoeing can be arranged directly with your guide.

Drive time: 2-3 hours

Overnight: Bird nest resort

Day 12: Drive to Lake Mburo national park

After Lazily breakfast you will drive to Lake Mburo national park, this is Uganda’s smallest savannah national park housing excellent wildlife like Eland, Giraffe, Impalas, zebra and abundant birdlife on arrival you will check in at your lodge for lunch and later in the evening you will enjoy a game drive in the park.

Drive time: 4-5 hours

Overnight: Mihingo Lodge

Day 13: Morning walking safari and evening leisure

After morning breakfast you will drive to the park to meet the armed ranger guides for a walking safari, this is one of the best ways to encounter African wildlife on foot, you will get close to wildlife and experience this phenomenal experience after you will return to the lodge for lunch and relax at the pool for the rest of your evening.

Walking safari: 2-3 hours

Overnight: Mihingo Lodge

Day 14: Drive to Kampala for Overnight

You may enjoy an early morning game drive before departing Lake Mburo national park, this drive will take you through the Equator where you will stop to take picture and do some shopping if you wish and after you will continue to Kampala for overnight.

Drive time: 5-6 hours

Overnight: Speke resort Munyonyo

Day 15: Depart for your Onward Journey

After an excellent safari experience in Uganda, you will bid farewell to your guide and transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.

The Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking ends here. Any accommodation aneeded after end of trip will cost you an extra amount.
