Overview
The 3 Day Nyungwe Forest Chimpanzee Safari takes you adventuring into Rwanda’s rainforest jungle, Nyungwe Forest National Park in search of a habituated chimpanzee troop. You also walk on high on the canopy that hangs about 9 meters high in the tree-tops. The Canopy Walkway, part of the Igishigishigi Trail, is a high suspension bridge with views over the valley and surrounding forests. A trail runs to the Kamiranzovu Marsh, with its birdlife, orchids and waterfall.
Nyungwe Forest National park is a vast area of mountain rainforest, home to many species of chimpanzees, plus owl-faced and colobus monkeys.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park
On arrival at the Kigali Airport, you will be picked by your Nyungwe Forest Chimpanzee Safari driver guide who will brief you about your trip as you take the drive to Nyungwe forest. You will enjoy a lunch en-route and visit to some genocide memorials.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy walk
Have an early breakfast, and head to the park headquarters before you enter into the tropical rainforest searching for the shy chimpanzees in the tree branches. While on this walk expect to spot other primates like the white and black Columbus, Vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys and mangaby and various.
Return to lodge for lunch and then in the afternoon take the canopy walk looking for primates, birds and the clear of the green canopy cover.

Day 3: Departure
With a rendezvous Nyungwe Forest Chimpanzee Safari breakfast, drive back to Kigali with lunch en-route alongside visiting the Cathedral of Kabgayi and other many historical sites such as the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza, National Museum at Huye. Later be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home.
